Meat enthusiasts will appreciate the rich layers of flavor found in classics like the Mongolian Beef (葱爆牛肉) and the aromatic Cumin Lamb (孜然羊肉). Not to be missed are the Chili Oil Wontons (猪肉红油抄手), which provide a fiery, mouthwatering kick that perfectly complements the other milder offerings.
The dining experience at Xiaolong Dumpling is further elevated by thoughtful touches like their unique tea selections—Chrysanthemum Tea and Green Tea—which cleanse the palate and soothe the senses between bites. The culinary artistry continues with desserts such as Mochi, which provide a sweet and delicate finish to the meal.

Xiaolong is a quaint restaurant nestled in the less noisy neighborhoods of montrose. My SO and I decided to walk in for an early dinner. The restaurant was not busy but we were greeted very warmly by Helen (she was super sweet and friendly). The orders can be placed by QR code and you can add more to the order as you go, which is super convenient. We started off with Tsingtao Chinese beers, it’s a lager similar to Dos Equis, which was not overly sweet. There was a complimentary mushroom soup which was a nice touch. We ordered the chili oil wontons (honestly my favorite dish, it was so fresh and had a good amount of filling). The chili oil was not overwhelming and was tempered by a creamier sauce. We also ordered pork soup dumplings (pretty good, I think the top part had a little too much dough but my husband loved it). We also had the pork baos which were yummy. After these dishes we were pretty full We can’t wait to try more off the menu!
Wish I took more pictures! The food was the best I have had in houston, everything was fresh and clean and Helen was friendly and hospitable Highly recommend the walnut shrimp, fried rice, and walnut shrimp. Even the chili oil was made fresh definitely will be back again thank you again Helen for being wonderful to me and my family!
Such a GREAT find. Found this place on Google during our recent stay in Houston. Easy to find. Came on a Sunday, and was warmly welcomed by co-owner, Helen. Good food. Szechuan Dry Pot was AMAZING! Highly recommend this dish. So pleased with this restaurant. I wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often!
1000/10 experience! You scan the menu qr code and order from your phone. The owner was so sweet and answered all of our questions. The Bao, rainbow dumplings, and Mongolian beef were phenomenal. Highly recommend this place. Also had to get food to go of courseeee.
New favorite dumpling spot! I had the rainbow dumplings and pork bao they were delicious! I am appreciative this place is so fairly priced. There’s a few parking spots and a lot around back. Ms. Hellen was SO nice and runs a very efficient ship! Can’t wait to bring friends here.
Absolutely loved this place. I live on opposite side of town and saw it had great reviews and I see why. The food was amazing! I had to try a few items and the service was great as well. I got to meet the owner Helen who was so sweet and I’ll definitely be back. Food was delicious and fresh!
THE BEST!! You can taste the love. We had an amazing meal and experience. Helen was the sweetest and very kind. I highly suggest the BBQ Pork Buns, the homemade bun is super fluffy and light. The soup dumplings melt in your mouth, the scallion pancake was perfect super crispy. Can’t wait to go back.
Service - outstanding! Food - one of the best meals I’ve had all year! The pork soup dumplings and the Biangbiang noodles with beef were incredible.
